This has nothing to do with your entry; I'm just sitting here with my friends who are ex-Madisonians and wanted to give you ideas about good places to go / things to do. Sorry it's so long; they got really enthusiastic about it. They hope you have good luck settling in.
1. Eat the chocolate chip cookie dough egg rolls at Bluephies. (HOLY SHIT I (bugboy3001) HAD THESE AND THEY'RE FANTASTIC 2. Eat at Monty's, Bandung (indonesian food), Maharaja (indian), Himal Chuli (nepalese), Sushi Box, the scones at Lazy Jane's 3. Get frozen custard and cheese curds from Culver's 4. Best grocery store in town: Woodman's. Hands down, no question. Willie St. co-op is also good. 5. Farmer's market: awesome. 6. If you like the outdoors: see the arboretum; walk out to picnic point; go ice skating at tenney park; 7. St. vincent de paul is a good thrift store 8. Monroe Street is a good shopping district 9. Bascomb Hall (on campus) has great UW brand ice cream 10. The badger on the top of the statue on the capitol building is the highest point in Madison, maybe all of wisconsin?
