So. I've realized something that was cut from the fifth movie that's going to backfire in the seventh.

They cut out Mundungus Fletcher! Honestly, my least favorite thing about the fifth film, looking back on it, is that they gave such short shrift to the actual Order of the Phoenix. You know, the thing the movie was named after? There was no scene where they cleaned out the cupboard, so no locket. They barely had Kreacher in it, but did the absolute bare minimum with him since J.K. Rowling said he would be important. And there was NO Mundungus Fletcher, which means no one who would have stolen the locket and given it to Umbridge, and no seventh Harry imposter to disapparate and get Mad-Eye killed.

I have this picture in my mind's eye of the seventh movie, having re-read the book last night, but I'm so sure much of what I loved will get cut. Because it's the little moments, the seemingly-insignificant bits of dialogue, that make the story and the characters so compelling. And can we PLEASE hurry up and make these movies before Maggie Smith dies? The woman is about eleventy-hundred years old and she's been slogging through a pretty thankless role for five movies now -- we've got to get her to the last one so she can kick some ass!

In other news, I have a t-shirt that's totally on its last legs. It's a Death t-shirt, circa "Time of Your Life", and it's way too big and basically crumbling. Not a flattering piece of clothing, but it's incredibly comfortable to just lounge around in, and I love the artwork on the front:

I've been thinking, though, that if I need to do another clothing purge before we move, I might have to chuck it. BUT NOT ANYMORE! Because today I went to the mailbox, and as I was bent over checking to make sure everything had been successfully deposited, I heard a quiet voice behind me say, "Nice Death shirt." It took me a second to realize the guy was talking to me, and as I stood up I said thank you, but he'd already walked on. And I was like, yes, it IS a nice Death shirt. And Death brings people together! (Like Moki, or Old Dirty Bastard.) So I'm keeping it, for now.

Could you cut out the pattern on the front and sew it to a new shirt? I can absolutely understand not wanting to get rid of that!

Nah...the pattern itself is getting all crumbly -- it's a black shirt and the white parts (her face, the checkerboard) are that iron-on-y type stuff. So they're the parts that are actually falling apart. The shirt itself has held up remarkably well -- no holes -- although it's VERY faded.
