My bro-in-law is awesome!
An eco-friendly poolside restaurant called Blue Velvet is due to open in October in a Downtown residential development at 750 Garland Street. Wall panels are made of rapidly renewable materials, and the development's rooftop doubles as a garden growing herbs, fruits and vegetables for the kitchen. The food coming out of that kitchen—curry-rubbed lobster with lobster consummé, filet mignon with balsamic beet purée and oxtail and beet hash—was envisioned by owner Robert Hartstein (who has done time in kitchens at Spago and Patina) and will be executed by Kris Morningstar (formerly of Patina and Meson G).
