are we really doing the girls-tuck-their-pants-into-their-boots thing now? really? cuz i don't wanna.

i see this constantly all of a sudden among the columbia crowd. it's all the same girls who were wearing teeny tiny miniskirts with wellies in the rain in november. sometimes i even think these girls look nice, in theory. in practice, silly. and i just...you can't do the pants-into-boots thing unless you're skinny. i mean skinny enough to wear very straight cut pants. which i cannot do. so maybe i'm not condemning this choice as a matter of aesthetics, but simply because i feel it is prejudicial to the curvy. i don't like it simply because i cannot pull it off. and i'm ok with that.

I saw a young girl rolling her jeans. THAT is not acceptable. I will NOT be doing that again.

girls, we must rise up from this oppressor! NO TUCKING PANTS INTO BOOTS! revolt! together we shall win!

(can we also banish the teeny tiny ruffle skirt as well??)

oh, you know how i feel about the ruffle skirt. but...[whisper] abby wears the ruffle skirt. [/whisper] so we must tread carefully.

i think the ruffle skirt thing is dying down now that summer's over. it's the same damn people tucking their pants into boots. what is WRONG with them?

of course, we're still wearing the same bellbottom jeans we did in 1995, so... :)

ah... well, i forgot about that. i'm sure abby can pull off the ruffle skirt with much aplomb. that's all i'll say about that before she gives me a platform boot to the head. ;)

yeah, the bells aren't going anywhere, i don't think. i wish i could pull off the straight-leg jeans look, but i can't seem to find any that fit my waist as well. i wish someone had given me a gift certificate for some plastic surgery for xmas! hee.

the other fashion trend i find mildly disturbing is the poncho. i don't think this look is flattering on most girls, even the skinny ones.
