I'm making a list of the stupidest characters on TV. But more the pitiable numbskulls, not just people who are intellectually challenged. They have to be the kind of person where, whatever they do, you kinda shake your head and say "Poor, stupid BLANK". Helo Agathon has been my longstanding top beleaguered idiot, but he has recently been surpassed by Mohinder Suresh. And then there's pretty much everyone on Lost except for Sayid. Have I expressed my continued disbelief that everyone on that island hasn't started listening to Sayid yet? The guy is pretty much always right, and he's super cool, and yet they're all like "Jack, lead us!" The fuck? Roy on the Office isn't exactly a braintrust, either -- he never figured out the JAM? In all that time?

OK, do any of you guys have people to add?

Have you watched The Wire? Ziggy from the second season is like that for me. Also, Nate from Six Feet Under, maybe.

On 24, everyone who works at CTU excluding Jack Bauer. Actually, you could probably include everyone single character on 24 except Jack on your "stupid character" list. The whole show runs on the idea that Jack alone has the knowledge and ability to save the world. the government on the show is so amazingly inept as to be beyond the bounds of my "suspension of disbelief" abilities. I used to watch 24 but I just can't deal with it anymore.

Poor Mohinder. He's supposed to be such a bright scholar and professor yet he is completely lacking in common sense. Well..at least he's got hotness going for him.

Sayid is the man. I've got a crush on him and a crush on Locke but Desmond is quickly becoming a crush too.

The guy is pretty much always right, and he's super cool, and yet they're all like "Jack, lead us!"


Aside from Desmond, I think Sayid is the only other person on the island with military training. Sayid is a good leader but I think the other islanders are reluctant to give him a leadership position due to his distasteful background as a torturer. Jack thinks too much to be a leader. Sayid is a man of action which is what the island needs.I can't stand Jack! He's a righteous whiner!! I will never understand what Kate sees in him. <shakes head>
