I like it, because I'm lazy. :) They used to be slow getting to you, and getting back there, since they only had one distribution point that was all the way across the country (in San Jose). They now have a few more, including one in the DC area, which should make it not too bad for you, as it's speeded up our service considerably.
A couple times I've had movies either not make it to me, or not make it back to them -- at least, according to their records. It slowed down the service, because you have to wait a bit longer to tell them that it hasn't arrived yet and please send another one (or send the same one again), but at least they allow you to do that.
Oh, I REALLY like being able to add the movies I want to see to a list, and being able to keep up with the list from almost anywhere. I would always forget what I wanted to see when we went to Blockbuster -- which, in our area, is almost always crowded and icky, and hardly ever has what we specifically want to see, but it's just about the only option.
yeah, we're not real fans of blockbuster. the selection and the service are both piss-poor. i also like the idea of a flat fee up front, as opposed to checking things out for 20 minutes and all of a sudden you've got late fees. plus, blockbuster edits movies and doesn't carry others for moral/religious reasons, which segev and i both have real grumpiness with. ok, fine, you're a practical monopoly and have bought out or driven out of business most of our other options for movie renting. and then you're gonna tell me what i can and cannot watch? yes, you have the right to do that, but i have the subsequent right to find whatever other options i can. boogerheads. and the only independent video store near us is really expensive. yuck.
It kicks major ass. Been using it for over two years now. No complaints other than you have to watch the "long wait" or "really long wait" movies as if they creep to the top of your queue, they'll delay the sending of the ones below it.
Quick sends and returns and their customer service has yet to be anything but really great.
