My First Tornado!

There is apparently a severe weather alert. The mall PA system has decided it needs to remind us of this every 60 seconds. We are supposed to stay away from skylights.

No, but seriously -- tornado warning! The national weather service has downgraded the hypothesized size of hail from "baseball" to "hen egg", but I'm still kinda unhappy that my car is parked out in the open. Courtney and I were talking about other egg sizes that could be used to denote hail proportions, given that they were so specific about the HEN size. We concurred that "dinosaur egg" would be theoretically the worst, but also the least helpful descriptor, given that most people have never actually seen a dinosaur egg and thus would be unable to extrapolate that proportion onto their hail expectations.

Holy shit, we can now hear the hail through the roof of the mall. Oh, my poor car.

First of all, does your employer have a tornado plan? Where are you supposed to go if there really is a tornado in your neighborhood? And is there covered parking? Is there a bus to take to work on days when the dinosaurs are predicted to be laying their eggs on your car?
Nice about the TV, though. Do you have time to go to the library and check out Consumer Reports?
Is that enough obnoxious questions for one evening?
I love you.

Honestly, the Apple store is probably the safest place in Madison during a tornado--all the walls are metal; it's basically a big bunker. Although the front doors are glass, so if the skylight in the hallway blew out and gusting winds came in, those could theoretically blow, too. We weren't too worried.

I could take public transportation to work, but there'd be a transfer. It would pretty much suck. But there were no dinosaur eggs to be seen when I came out, and the drive home was uneventful. All is well.

I haven't looked at consumer reports, just online articles and reviews. Consensus seems to be that Samsung is awesome, and that you should avoid buying from Best Buy because they're assholes. This is all I know.

Ah, I meant to ask if you were getting the scary-bad weather that's threatening to sweep away my alma mater.
