I don't give a shit one way or the other about ads; I have a paid account. I just love that they changed this without telling anyone and then were like, "oh we just wanted to make the sign-up process easier. Those three radial buttons were SOOOO confusing." I'm so glad we've got new LJ overlords that are just as underhanded and oblivious at the old ones -- because that way lies PIRATE SONGS! arrrrr.

Oh yeah, I don't expect them to change one iota. They're still going to pull the behind-the-scenes changes and not say a damn word until someone notices. If they notice. It's the worst kind of corporate bullshit.

Existing basic accounts are unaffected. Since I have no desire to open a new account, and no one reads condiment_love anyway, I don't care so much.

Though now I'm wondering why I never got a paid account. I host all my images on another site, and I'm not much of a userpic person, or voice posts, or polls. But I remember thinking on several occasions, "I do use this site a lot; since 2003, and regularly. I should pay for it." But my economic principles kick in (I, for example, would have paid exactly zero dollars for the pick-yr-price Radiohead album, if I liked Radiohead, even if I loved them) and I'm convinced not to.

So спасибо, S.U.P., for affirming my desire to continue giving you no dollars at all.
