Patrick Swayze rumors

Patrick Swayze is reportedly dying of pancreatic cancer. Now, given, the source is the National Enquirer, but if it's true this is really, really sad. He's only 55. (We have the same birthday...28 years apart, but whatever.) And pancreatic cancer is really not a fun way to go.

I'm not a crazy Dirty Dancing fan like a lot of girls my age, but, you know...everybody loves this scene.

I'm wishing him good health.

ETA: Confirmed by Swayze's publicist. :(

it's been confirmed?! oh no. that is indeed sad.

dirty dancing came on the other day, just about 10 minutes in, and even though i had errands to do and places to go, i could not make myself turn the tv off until the movie ended. and man, was he in fine shape back then!

Yeah -- he's completely not my type, but he just has a way about him that's kinda ludicrously sexy.

I, too, am quite sad. I wasn't crazy for Dirty Dancing, but I did like it. That and Top Gun were the first sexy movie scenes I ever watched.

But, dumb question, what does ETA stand for? I keep seeing it and I think Estimated Time of Arrival and that's clearly wrong. I guess I'm showing how very, very unhip I am.

Poor Patrick Swayze and his family. :-(

Pancreatic cancer is not a good way to die. I think both my father's best friends (Richard and Don) passed away from pancreatic cancer. I believe Richard had primarily pancreatic cancer whereas Don's begin in his lungs and then spread to the pancreas. Both of them suffered long and agonizingly painful deaths. Mr. Swayze's publicist says the reports that Patrick has only weeks to live are false and that Swayze is responding favorably to treatment. I think Patrick will have an advantage over my father's late friends since neither of them were incredibly physically active health freaks like Swazye. they were about the same age at diagnosis but neither of them were really in top physical condition. 55 years old or not Mr. Swayze looks to s till be in fabulous shape. I'm not going to get insanely hopeful for him though. however his otherwise great health and his skads of Dirty Dancing and Ghost money provide him with a better chance of beating pancreatic cancer than most people.

I need to go watch Roadhouse.

i reenacted that scene for a talent show in high school....

with my sister. she was patrick, i was jennifer. it was fucking awesome.

i've seen that movie at least a hundred times. my dad caught me making out with the tv screen (as a youngster, apparently patrick swayze really appealed to me) and banned my sister and i from watching it alltogether.

sigh.

well shit. *tears up* this makes me really, really sad. i love patrick swayze. i hadn't thought of him in ages. i just watched that whole clip and remembered how much of a crush i used to have on him, and how awesome he was in so many movies. :(
