sure, go ahead! forward away, though i don't think anything i've said here is particularly coherent. i think the straussian thing is a whole other layer beyond the new left/neocon schism. it seems to come at a different time and place, and the people who are regarded as neocons today (the straussians) aren't quite the same as the neocons of the 70s and 80s (irving kristol, norman podhoretz, dan pat moynihan, jeane kirkpatrick).

i got the mood icons last night by going through the memories listing over at...uh...this list right here. i don't think i know how to import them right, though, because the way i did it took me a fucking hour and a half and there HAS to be a simpler way.
