Bill Kristol says the surge is working. Hrm. According to this graph, it looks like the drop in deaths doesn't necessarily correspond to the surge, which, I believe, began in April of last year. However, it sure does correspond to Moqtada al-Sadr's voluntary 6 month cease-fire that he called for strategic reasons. Maybe we should wait until February to see if the surge results can hold once the Mahdi army actually starts, you know, trying to kill people again. As of right now, it's all propaganda from both sides. Like that will ever change, though...

Also, Bill Kristol is totally phoning it in with these columns. I'm disappointed and bored. He's not even trying. I guess he saves his really inflammatory stuff for Hannity. Boo.

Clinton supporters say Obama's been "shucking and jiving" and make insinuations about him being a hoodrat crackhead, then do a really poor job of pretending they didn't mean any racist inference. This is just as gross as Chris Matthews et. al. making moronically unsubtle sexist comments about Hillary (she's "shrill", she's "witchy", whatever), and this time it's not coming from the press, it's coming from another candidate. Gross, gross, gross. I was expecting this if he made it to the general election, when all the real racists come out to shine. But from the camp of the "first black president" and his wife? GROSS. Time for the Rove/McCain/black baby-esque push polls to start!

More in crazy Obama-bashing: The New York Post totally made up some crap about Obama walking into his Iowa victory party to the dulcet tones of Jigga's "99 Problems." You know, as in, "I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one"? (Ha ha ha ha.) And now it's totally being picked up and reported all sorts of places. One problem: it didn't happen. There is a two hour video of the event available on the web, and you can hear what's playing in the background. No Hova.

How did anyone buy this? Let's leave aside the Hillary/bitch fun (and it is a pretty clever story -- kudos to whoever started this rumor! You win the honorary Don Imus "Nappy Headed Hoes" trophy for the week!), and look at some of the other lyrics:

I got the rap patrol on the gat patrol
Foes that wanna make sure my casket's closed
Rap critics they say he's "Money Cash Hoes"
I'm from the hood stupid, what type of facts are those
If you grew up with holes in ya zapatos
You'd be celebrating the minute you was havin' dough
I'm like fuck critics you can kiss my whole asshole

Or, even better:

Now once upon a time not too long ago
A nigga like myself had to strong arm a hoe

In WHAT UNIVERSE would a major presidential candidate, or anyone approved to DJ events on his behalf, ever ever EVER play this song at a victory speech? Or any speech? Obama's black; he's not RETARDED. Like many of us, Barack Hussein Obama might enjoy listening to Jay-Z at home during his spare time. But, you know, I don't put "Can I Get A" as my outgoing voicemail message when I'm waiting for a potential employer to call, even if my coochie DOES remain in a Gucci name. And I'm not exactly running for president. So.
