old republic

has anyone else noticed that the editorial tone of the new republic is decidedly male? there's just something about the voice that's being spoken in that's very old-boys-club democrat. kennedy/johnson democrat. i mean, it's obvious that the general tone of the magazine has taken a step to the right in the past year, mostly because of marty peretz's hardline stance on israel. but i don't think the maleness of it is a change at all. i think it's just always been like that and i never really noticed before. and the masthead might as well be shaped like a great big penis for the number of token females that are on there. (3, i believe.)

i got my delirium action figure. it is purty. and it has a borghal rantipole on a string.

and now it is inconspicuous too as well....

plastics!

i've been playing with my delirium figure for a while now and now my hand smells like christmas morning. that somehow sounds wrong. i'll explain. christmas morning when i was a kid, i would get all these new toys and i would unwrap them and fondle them and play with them. they always eminated this really satisfying fresh plastic smell. that's the smell on my hands right now. it smells like nerfulls. it smells like jem. it smells like care bears. it doesn't smell like strawberry shortcake, but it smells like the smell that lingered under the synthetic fruit scent. i love it. it makes me want to go work at toys r us and smell things.

i liked tonight's buffy episode and i don't care who knows it. yes, i know it's been done before. twice. but i apparently like love spell episodes! so boo! i'm enjoying the vastly improved production values this season, and anya's hair color, and buffy's bangs, and that scene with buffy and the rocket launcher outside the principal's office.
